Microsoft Copilot — How Simmes Works Behind the Scenes
Copilot is unique among AI assistants because it exists in four different environments:
- Copilot Web
- Copilot in Windows
- Microsoft 365 Copilot (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Copilot Studio / Custom Copilots
Each one handles Simmes differently — and understanding these differences helps users get the best results.
Here are the real, confirmed behaviours:
1. Copilot Web (copilot.microsoft.com)
This is the most “ChatGPT-like” environment Microsoft offers, and Simmes works well here.
Simmes effects in Copilot Web:
- Adopts your tone consistently
- Improves clarity and structure
- Boosts creativity in idea generation
- Strong synergy with HyperSym’s expansion/contraction reasoning
- Works particularly well for business writing, emails, proposals, and planning
Simmes give Copilot Web more personality and depth, compensating for Copilot’s naturally blunt and corporate tone.
2. Copilot in Windows
This version is designed for quick tasks, summaries, and general help.
How Simmes behave here:
- Tone and personality carry over well
- Reasoning depth improves noticeably
- Best for short-form content and personal workflow tasks
- HyperSym boosts creativity despite the model being “lighter”
Limitation:
Windows Copilot tends to shorten responses, so HyperSym expansion may need prompting:
“Expand further using the full Simmes style.”
3. Microsoft 365 Copilot (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
This is where Simmes become incredibly useful — but works differently.
Word + Simmes (very strong)
- Simmes deeply improves brand tone
- Outstanding for reports, proposals, internal docs
- Long-form structure benefits from Euclid1
- Creative ideation is much richer than default Copilot
This is one of the BEST uses of Simmes in the Microsoft ecosystem.
Outlook + Simmes (excellent)
- Emails become warmer, clearer, more persuasive
- Tone drift is significantly reduced
- Perfect for outreach, customer service, or sensitive communication
Simmes fix Outlook Copilot’s tendency to sound robotic or overly formal.
Excel + Simmes (moderate)
Simmes cannot change formulas or analytical logic, but it dramatically improves:
- explanations
- summaries
- strategic recommendations
- planning support
PowerPoint + Simmes (strong)
- Better scriptwriting
- More compelling narrative tone
- Slides written with your personality
- HyperSym improves concept development
Great for pitches, talks, and brand presentations.
4. Copilot Studio / Custom Copilots
Simmes work inside custom copilots too, but:
- must be pasted into “Custom Instructions”
- has limits depending on which model is selected
- some modules may be simplified by Microsoft safety layers
Still powerful — but not as expressive as ChatGPT or Claude.
1. No guaranteed file upload support across all versions
Some Copilot builds (especially on Windows) do not currently support file uploads.
Solution:
→ PASTE the full Simmes text.
2. Copilot sometimes “shortens” outputs automatically
This is a design choice by Microsoft.
Tell it:
“Write the full version using my Simme style.”
3. Tone can be softened by enterprise safety layers
Microsoft’s safety layer may override overly emotional styles.
Simmes still work, but the tone may be slightly more corporate than ChatGPT/Claude.
4. Not ideal for very creative content
Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT outperform Copilot on purely artistic writing or image prompts.
Simmes help a LOT — but Copilot is built for work tasks first.
Unique Advantages of Using Simmes with Copilot
